Dark Fae's Secrets - Eve Newton Page 0,1

even as I do, with an evil laugh she Puffports away. She will be back in the protection of the Light Fae Palace before I can take my next breath.

“FUCK!” I scream at the sky. “Why is she still allowed on these grounds?”

“Give the word, my Queen, and she will be taken out the next time she steps foot here.”

I turn to Jerrick. I have no idea how long he has been standing there, but clearly enough time to figure out what is going on.

He gives Rath’Na a cursory nod, but then his focus is completely on me. His gaze is boring into mine. He is clinging to whatever shred of control he has.

“Word,” I whisper, and he cracks a smile as I’d hoped.

He bobs his head, coming to me to give me a deep kiss before he Puffports away to get his Guard in order.

Rath’Na has helped Rook to his feet. My little raven is completely naked and tempting me with his rock-hard body.

I rake my gaze over him, but he looks like he was hit in the side of the head by a Dragon god. “Go and rest, my sweet raven,” I murmur to him, taking his hand and kissing it. “I will come and see you in a few moments. I want to wake the rest first.”

He nods, his face full of confusion. I don’t blame him. I’m still trying to wrap my head around what is happening here. I lean over to give him a soft kiss and then he Puffports out, which I hope doesn’t make him feel any worse.

I turn back to Rath’Na. He is giving me an expectant look.

“Why have you not mentioned your new status, dear girl?” he asks, leaning on his godstaff.

“I don’t want to. Not yet,” I mumble and hold my hands out to the remaining dead ravens. The silver slivers work their way around the rest and soon they are all flying off, annoyed but alive.

“Why not?” he presses.

“I have just become Queen,” I say, turning to him. “I cannot even begin to process this…” I drop my tone to a whisper, “…goddess thing.”

“This goddess thing is who you are,” he says. “You are my other half, Savannah. We have much to accomplish and you can’t do that by hiding in the shadows.”

I shake my head. “What do you mean ‘your other half’ and what do we need to accomplish? I need to be here, ruling my Kingdom.”

“Savenir told me that you would come, that I needed to be patient and wait for you. She wasn’t the one for me. Our halves didn’t match. But you and I…oh, Savannah, you felt it while we were making love. I know you did.”

I did.

But how do I tell my other men that?

“What are we supposed to accomplish?” I ask quietly.

He steps closer, letting his godstaff hover next to us as he takes my hands. “The Dragons and Fae were never supposed to live apart. We are stronger together. We can rid the world of the weak, rule as we were supposed to instead of hiding in our Realms. We are meant to bring the Fae and the Dragons back together.”

“What?” I shake my head in confusion. What is he saying exactly?

“We need to go to the Dragon Realms and bring them back to our side.”

“My sister is the Dragon Empress,” I point out. “Are you saying you are going to remove her from her rule?”

“No, of course not. I gave the title of Empress to the females of the race. I have no desire to take that away. However, Delinda will have to align her interests with mine. Ours.”

I take that in. He makes it sound like she doesn’t have a choice. That I don’t have a choice. But apart from that, he appears to be talking about wiping out humans so that supernatural creatures can rule. I’m not sure that is something that I am all that interested in doing. I have nothing against humans. I don’t know many, sure, but they can’t be all that bad that they deserve to be swept away.

“I can see your hesitation and I understand it. I have thrown this at you without prior warning. It wasn’t my intention to come out with all of this here, now. But the feelings that I have for you are clouding my judgment right now.” He gives me that slow, sexy smile that makes me melt and I step in closer to him, wrapping my arms around
