Dark Fae's Secrets - Eve Newton Page 0,2

him.

“I hear what you are saying, and we can discuss it in the future, when I’ve settled into this new role, this new power of being Queen first, okay, Rath?”

“Rath?” he asks, looking down at me with a smirk.

I return it with a shrug.

“Okay, Savvie,” he replies. “We can certainly discuss our bigger plans at a later time; however, you do need to inform your other men of your goddess nature now. You have already shown that you have the magick. Your Fae Queen power does not include bringing the dead back to life, my sweet girl. They will know something is up sooner rather than later, and well, quite frankly, I insist on it.”

“Why?” I ask. “Why can’t it just be between us for now? I want to see how the dynamic falls between us all with my Queen power first. Bringing in an all-powerful Faerie goddess who can reanimate dead creatures is something that I need to understand first.”

“Not all dead creatures,” he murmurs with a frown. “Only those you are connected to. Do not go around thinking that you can bring every dead thing back to life, Savvie.”

“You see! I have so much to learn.”

“I will teach you what I know about your power, which is a lot, but not all. The rest is up to you, my love. I will remain quiet about your new powers, for now. I cannot reiterate enough that I want you to tell them soon. I want them to know who we are to each other.”

I want to tell him that I don’t really know what we are to each other. How can I when I don’t understand anything about this power and how…why…I’m connected to him as his ‘other half’.

He takes my chin in his hand and kisses me lightly. “Now that I have found you, I cannot let you go,” he murmurs.

“Don’t,” I whisper. “Don’t ever let me go.”

I deepen the kiss, needing to be as close to him as I can possibly get. I feel this way with all of my men, but this is different. I can feel it in my bones, my blood. I need time to figure it out and figure out how to not let it get in the way of what I have with my other men.

As Rath runs his hands down my body, bunching my dress up in his fists roughly, tugging at it until the fabric renders, I fear that this isn’t going to be an easy task. What I feel for him, he feels back for me with more understanding and clarity.

Most importantly, he only has me.

We sink to the soft grass and I turn my thoughts off. I just feel, and oh, fuck, does it feel good.

Jerrick

I stand in the Palace, in a darkened corridor where no one passes by much. I am looking out of a window that faces directly where Savannah and Rath’Na are fucking. She is being very blatant about it. Maybe now that she is Queen, she doesn’t care about privacy anymore.

It doesn’t really bother me. I knew the second that I saw her look at him that this is what would happen. I was expecting it. When he came to us and told us what his intentions were a few hours ago, none of us were surprised and none of us fought him. If Savannah wants him, then we all accept that. There is something deep there, I’m just not sure what it is. I think she does, but she hasn’t mentioned it yet. I won’t push her, nor will I use my empathic power to sift through her feelings. It’s up to her to tell us when she’s ready. I don’t doubt that she will.

“Jerrick,” a soft woman’s voice purrs at me.

I close my eyes briefly and grimace. I knew this would come back to bite me in the ass. She wasn’t that impressed when I dumped her suddenly to be with Savannah.

“Letisha,” I mutter. “What do you want?”

She laughs. “Is that any way to talk to the woman who used to service your cock?”

I turn to her, glaring into her purple eyes that I used to think were so pretty. Now, her features don’t do it for me at all.

“I’ve told you, it’s over,” I grit out.

“Oh, I know,” she snarls. “After everything, you just decided one day that I wasn’t good enough. Well, I’m no Queen…”

She leaves that hanging there and looks out of the window. I don’t know if she
