Valor, Variant 2 - Sandra R Neeley Page 0,3

left here, but we know they hide the females sometimes.”

“Nurses’ suites,” the first male answered.

“We checked there. Is there a secret room?” Nina asked.

The first male shook his head with a comical look on his face. “No. The nurses left.”

“So, hold on, you were given nurses as rewards?” Scorn asked.

The male shook his head and smiled. “I was the nurses’ reward,” he said smugly. “Couldn’t keep their hands off me,” he boasted.

“He’s a whore, no fucking self-esteem, or regard for anything but himself,” the second male said, and spat on the floor beside where he sat. “Fuck you,” he said vehemently.

“Fuck you! You’re just pissed they don’t want to fuck you,” the first male accused.

“I’ll fucking kill you,” the second male threatened.

“I’ll fuck you up again!” the first male said, struggling to get to his feet before flopping face first to the floor again.

“Fuck you!” the second male answered.

“Oh, just shut the fuck up! Both of you!” Lethal bellowed.

“We really need to get the hell out of here sometime this week,” Smitty shouted in the ear piece Lethal still wore. “And if you’d put your fucking helmets back on so we can communicate both ways, it’d be much appreciated, you stubborn bastards!”

“Smitty says we gotta move,” Lethal said. “And put your helmets back on.”

Scorn chuckled from behind as he slipped his helmet back on. “Missed us?” he asked.

“The fuck is going on? I got company assembling outside the gates to this damn place. Can we get the hell out of here?” Smitty asked.

“Waking the males now,” Lethal said, having replaced his helmet. “Heading out momentarily.” He positioned himself so that his back was facing the opposite wall. “Listen up, here’s how it’s going to happen. You two are going to stop fucking arguing. You’re going to allow my team to assist you. You will not give us any trouble or I’ll leave your fucking asses behind, with or without a couple of bullets in you — I don’t really give a damn which. We are returning home, with you in tow. You will be identified, and debriefed. What you do after that is up to you. Any information you can give to help us track Waller is more than appreciated, and could earn you some brownie points if you decide to join us. Now stand the fuck up, we’re heading out.”

Feral tossed his rifle to Valor, then leaned over and grabbed the second male around the waist. The male put his arm around Feral’s shoulder and helped to hold himself up.

Scorn handed his rifle to Nina who immediately stepped back beside Lethal, holding Scorn’s rifle at the ready since hers was still draped over her back.

The first male looked down at his ripped and torn clothing. His chest was exposed, and his left thigh was showing through the slice in his pants. “The fuck did this?” he grumbled.

“I did. I was waking your ass up,” Nina said.

The male grinned at her again. “Did I enjoy it?” he asked.

“Walk, people!” Lethal ordered.

Steel and Valor led the way with the others falling in behind and Lethal and Nina bringing up the rear.

They made it down both flights of stairs, then out the front of the building. Feral and Scorn paused at the edge of the building to wait for Steel and Valor to call them out once they’d determined all was well before they rushed out into the open practically carrying the males they’d found.

Smitty already had the rotors spinning, and was waiting impatiently for Lethal’s team.

“It’s just curious locals, no aggressors,” Steel said as he stood between the team and the helicopter waiting for them.

Valor turned and gave them the signal to follow, and it took only minutes for the entire team, plus their two new passengers to board the helicopter. They’d just managed to secure themselves as Smitty lifted into the air and turned them back toward the private airstrip awaiting their return so they could load this helicopter onto the C130 waiting to fly them all back to Alliance.

Chapter 2

Lethal sat back, looking at his team. This was never easy on them, but it was much more difficult when they found males like themselves who were still captive. The first male was sitting with his back against the opposite bench, and staring at Nina.

“What’s your name?” Nina asked, from her place beside Lethal.

“One,” he answered.

“And he’s One, too?” Nina asked.

The first male looked at the second who was seated next to her with his back leaning on the bench
