Unexpectedly Expecting the Sheik's Baby - Elizabeth Lennox Page 0,3

this man was just as tall and intimidating as the man behind her, Cassy didn’t feel the same shocking current as she extended her hand when introduced to him.

“You understand the situation correctly, Mikal,” Nasir del Soya Irazi replied, his dark eyes daring the other man. The two men spoke in Arabic though, to maintain their privacy. He suspected that capturing the interest of the woman trembling in front of him would be much more of a challenge than his previous conquests, and the thought pleased him inordinately.

Sheik Mikal el Diarasi chuckled and eyed the woman again. “Your choice is clear, my friend. I would not dare to get in your way. And I applaud your choice. She will give you strong children to carry on your legacy.”

Nasir glanced at the lovely Cassandra Flemming again, noting the flare of emotion in her dark eyes, the glossy shine of her hair. He wanted to release her hairpins and see her hair dance around her shoulders. A baby machine? Nasir could see the intelligence in her eyes and knew that she was so much more. Plus, he doubted the lovely lady would enjoy being reduced to a baby factory, so he didn’t translate Mikal’s comment.

Still, he wanted to take her hand again and reassure her. He could see the trembling in her shoulders as she struggled to maintain a professional demeanor. Her presence here in this room indicated that she had a strong legal mind. These meetings today were to forge an agreement between two countries. Both he and Mikal had demanded the expertise of this firm because of the firm’s reputation. The lawyers employed here would be the best, so Ms. Flemming wasn’t just a lovely woman. She was likely a powerful force in the legal world.

A part of him wanted to walk away from Ms. Flemming, to ignore the potent pull he felt. He had enough challenges in his life, he didn’t need more. But there was no denying the attraction he felt. In fact, he’d never felt this kind of attraction before. There was no chance of ignoring the increasing awareness.

Cassy wondered what they were saying. It was the height of rudeness to speak in a foreign language, especially since she was certain they were talking about her!

“Excuse me,” she interrupted. “I need to…”

“You need to stay right where you are, my little one,” the man behind her said.

His voice sounded like sandpaper with a large dose of menace mixed in, but somehow it smoothed over her skin like satin, sending additional shivers right down to her stomach. The shivers weren’t such a horrible issue. It was the throbbing lower, deeper than her stomach, which worried her and forced her shoulders to stiffen. She was not that kind of woman, she reminded herself.

And “my little one”? Who the hell did he think he was?! She wasn’t his property! And “little”? She wasn’t little! She was average height! Definitely not little!

She felt him move behind her slightly. Okay, maybe she was little compared to him. He was ridiculously tall, well over six feet. Still…! She wasn’t his little anything!

With stiff, insulted outrage, Cassy stalked towards the end of the table. She knew that the firm’s partners would be sitting at the other end while she and Darren took notes and offered suggestions during the breaks. She was also here to observe and pass those observations to the others. She’d done this before during other negotiations, so she knew the drill. Still, she couldn’t wait for the day when she was the one sitting at the other end of the table.

Cassy wanted to glare at the tall, ferocious man, but knew that he was an important client, so she settled for cold professionalism as she sat down in one of the expensive leather chairs.

And she’d prove to the big jerk that she was a damn good lawyer and not his personal plaything!

Nasir watched the woman walk away. He could sense her anger. His gaze took in her figure, irritated that he could see so little of it. The collar of her black, wool suit came up to her chin and the skirt ended a few inches below her knees. Her shoes were conservative and boring, but nothing could hide her elegant silhouette. As she walked, the suit moved with her, revealing the round curve of her bottom. Her breasts were a strange shape, he noticed, wondering why. He could tell that she was slender by the delicate bone structure in her
