Miners of Djaromir Toren - Leora Gonzales Page 0,2

volunteers.

“You’ll find a mate in Gunninng,” Basil added with a firm nod in her direction. “Warlord Matrix and his mate have already sent word ahead to Toren that the phaetrain will be arriving earlier than expected.”

“Toren?” she asked. “Is he the second in command there?”

“Sometimes,” Basil answered with a nod and shrug. “He spends a lot of time either in the mines or running the cargo freighters to transport the ore. When needed in Gunninng, he’ll assist Warlord Matrix, but most of his time is spent outside of the tunnel city. Unlike Colby, Toren prefers—”

“Hey!”

Jessie looked up at the sound of Rue’s voice, surprised to see they’d reached the first gate so quickly.

“Hey, girl. You’re looking good,” she said with a wave. She didn’t know the other woman super well, but that didn’t stop her from passing out compliments. She’d always strived to lift other females up. With all the negative body issues shoved in women’s faces, she’d made it a mission to fight back by telling others how beautiful they are. It wasn’t much, but it if she made someone smile, then it was worth it. “I love that dress on you.”

“Thanks.” Rue smiled big and gave a sassy little twirl that had her skirt fluttering around her plump thighs before settling back at her knees. “I stole it back from Lucy once I remembered how good I looked in it. Lemme know if you wanna borrow it, okay? It’s one of those that somehow looks good on everyone, and we seem to be about the same size, which means if it looks fantastic on me, then it’ll look fabulous on you.”

“It has a traveling pants vibe?” she asked, eyeballing the flattering lines of the outfit in question. She could totally see the potential of its shape when it came to her tits and ass. It might be a little short on her, considering their difference in height, but the cut would definitely play up the extra sweet meats she’d been blessed with.

“Totally.” Rue walked around Jessie, taking a moment to blatantly check her out. “Oh yeah. With those curves, this dress will slay on you, honey. Plus, friends share clothes, and that’s what we are, right?”

“Right,” Jessie agreed with a nod. The little bits and pieces of conversation she’d had with Lucy and Rue up until this point had always been interesting, if not hysterically funny. They had quite a few things in common and had bonded initially over their love of romance novels and movies before landing in Djaromir. It wasn’t much, but it was a hell of a lot more than she had in common with the other woman walking up to them.

Tabitha the Twatwaffle.

“That’s our cue to go.” Melanie tipped her head in the direction of the viper slithering towards them. She pulled Jessie in for another quick hug. “Good luck. You’ll find a hottie. I just know it. You’re amazing and smart and beautiful—”

“Wow,” Rue interrupted, watching on the sideline as Melanie impersonated a boa constrictor squeezing Jessie tight enough to cut off breath. “I didn’t realize you had your own hype man. Where can I get one of those? I want someone to tell me I’m pretty and amazing.”

“I already do that, my obsession.”

Jessie slow blinked as the husky-voiced warlord who was mated to Rue joined their little huddle. She didn’t mean to stare, but the man was a supreme slice of delicious. The wicked scar splitting his beard only added to the hotness. She felt quite certain he was one of the sexiest men she’d ever seen.

“Not enough,” Rue quipped, bumping his hip with her own. She tipped her head to the group of Djaromir waiting at the gate. “Did you get everything handled? Are we ready to head out?”

“Yes.” Warlord Matrix dropped a quick kiss on his mate’s lips just as Tabitha joined them.

“Gross,” the annoying female breathed with a wrinkle of her nose that made her appear as though she’d just smelled a fresh shit. “Can we leave now?

“Yes, Tabitha,” Rue answered with more diplomacy than Jessie expected. The last time she’d seen the two women together, Rue had been about to tear Tabitha’s straw-looking hair out. “Things just wrapped up and we will be leaving soon.”

“Good.” With a huff, Tabitha turned and walked to where a few other Djaromir waited.

“How about you?” Rue asked Jessie as they approached the gates leading out of the tunnel city. “Are you ready to go?”

“Yeah.” Jessie gave Melanie one final little wave as
